Through the past eight weeks of the pledging process, I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned so much more about myself and my pledge brothers and the experiences that we have shared. I did not expect to be able to bond with twelve amazingly intelligent characters who have helped shaped me into a stronger and more focused individual. In addition, I appreciate the safe environment that Alpha Kappa Psi has provided for my pledge class and I to grow into developed professionals and an indestructible brotherhood. The experiences that we have had is something that I will remember for a lifetime.

Throughout this pledging process, I didn’t really know what to expect or what I would gain out of it. From these past few weeks, I learned so much more than just professionalism, but also how to work with a team and built close relationships with several individuals who I can now call my closest friends. With the mentorship of not only my pledge parents and my big, and having the support of my pledge class throughout these past few weeks gave me the push to grow. I found more potential within myself and became more confident, shaping myself into a better leader. From pledge meetings to presentations, fundraising proposals and late nights trying to finish projects, as we near the end of the pledging process I cherish the time I have with everyone as much as I can. To the Alpha Gamma Rays, I’m happy I got to meet and get close to each and every one of you.

Throughout this pledging process, I realized that there are limits that are set on people. Working on projects, networking, and workshops have made me surpass my limits and learn the value of time. I have never done anything harder than pledging for Alpha Kappa Psi, and this has shown my true character. This process has told me that there are so many opportunities everywhere and life and you have to be brave enough to take the risks that are coming along with it.

My experiences in the Pledging Process have given me the opportunities to grow closer to my twelve pledge brothers. Paired with my the numerous challenges that we had to conquer together like fundraising, business proposals, and career presentations taught me to never give up and always approach every task with your all. This Process has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had in my life so far. We love board games.

The Pledging process has been the most difficult thing I’ve done so far, I’ve grown so much through it, professionally and personally. Through Alpha Kappa Psi, I learned how to fix up my resume which landed me my first professional job interview. After my interview, I landed my first professional job as a Marketing Assistant which I am very excited and nervous to start.
I’ve also stressed through pledging with my Pledge Brothers which created a bond that can only be made by going through so much together. I love my Pledge Brothers so much and I’m so glad I met them through this Pledging Process

The process has been life changing where I have been placed with a group of people that have become more than lifelong friends. My Pledge Brothers have become my second family and I could not have asked for a better group to grow and thrive with.
Personally, during the process I’ve grown a lot in terms of motivation and confidence where in the past I had a pattern of quitting and not believing in myself, but throughout the process these bad habits have changed. The process has pushed me and given me incredible Pledge Brothers that motivate me to make a change in myself and has built my confidence along the way. I’m extremely grateful for all the resources, experiences, and lessons Alpha Kappa Psi and the process has provided me with.

What's this item about? The summer leading up to my last year of college, I wondered what I would be looking back ten years down the road. I felt like everything I’ve done up to this point in college consisted of me chasing after my academics with no substantial time invested in my social life. I didn’t want to live with the thought of “what if” so I made the decision to join Alpha Kappa Psi. Being in this process has been by far one of the best experiences I’ve had in college. Here, I have learned more about myself in attributes of leadership, organization, and communication. However more importantly, I found people that I love to work with and can genuinely call my friends. What started as an effort for self gain became an experience of life time with people who I would do everything in my power to help. LESSSSS GEEET ITTTTT

This process was a difficult journey and I really couldn’t have done this without my Pledge Brothers. This process made me realize how important it is to network outside of your comfort zone and make an effort to get to know people. Not only did the Pledge Brothers help me, but also the Brothers of Alpha Kappa Psi. They really made me think about my career path and how I want to grow as a person. Alpha Kappa Psi helped me become more confident in my public speaking skills as well as my networking skills. I love what Alpha Kappa Psi has given me and I want to give back.

I never thought that I would have made it this far, but my Pledge Brothers have helped me through thick and thin and I can never thank them enough for that. Throughout this process, I have grown to be confident in a professional setting and improved on my public speaking which is what I wanted out of pledging. I look forward to becoming a Brother and showcasing all of my improvements and skills to the Chapter.

Coming into the Pledging Process, I was a shy and introverted individual who struggled to reach out to others. However, after several informal meetings, and networking sessions with Brothers, I realized that it was essential to break out of my shell and reach out to my Pledge Brothers.
My turning point in the process was Midcourt, where I realized that I needed to step up as a Pledge Brother since I did not have a position. I needed to show that I had leadership potential and wanted to prove to everyone I was able to lead fundraisers, workshops, and events.
The Pledging Process taught me to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. A Brother told me, that if you're comfortable, you're in the wrong place. You have to seek to learn and understand, in order for you to expand your knowledge and skill sets. I was able to obtain knowledge and make great new friends whom I will do anything for.

I sound like a broken record, but pledging for a Business Fraternity was nothing that I’ve expected. The pledging process was pretty much a 4 unit class for me. Starting out, I had no experience in the professional world, the etiquette; it was all new to me. Funny story, my resume was 2 pages because I thought it would impress my future boss, but I was wrong. Throughout the pledging process, it was a work and grind every day and making sure that my pledge brothers and I stayed on top of our project. Not only that, but I've developed so many friendships with the Brothers throughout the process, also a bigger brotherhood within my pledge class. Honestly, my pledge class isn’t just a group, they are another family. I am the baby of my pledge class and also the chapter, so I look up to everyone and take all of the pieces of advice I can. Coming into the process, I was super shy and wasn’t confident enough to voice out my opinions and my ideas, which wasn’t efficient and helpful to my class nor myself. The fact that within 8th weeks, I have changed and developed so much as a person with my confidence and as a professional, it’s crazy. I’m really glad that I was able to continue the process and have amazing 12 people to support me.

Prior to pledging for Alpha Kappa Psi I did not have a clear vision of what I want my career to look like, but now I have a developed roadmap of how career would unfold under optimal circumstances. During this pledging process I have improved personal skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, group communication, and open-mindedness which creates value in my career potential. Along this process I have discovered a group of friends and developed a connection with them that is irreplaceable because of how hard they push me and make me want to work. My professional behavior prior to pledging was quite weak and diluted but I believe that my pledge class and the brothers have assisted me in developing this behavior to be responsible and effective. Overall, Alpha Kappa Psi has provided me with a family that is dedicated to the professional and social development of my pledge class and I which I value immensely. I plan to achieve great things through my participation in Alpha Kappa Psi and hope to contribute to the development of the organization.
